Three academies under one roof
The Akademie Sankelmark, founded in 1952, is one of the renowned educational establishments in Schleswig-Holstein. Its activities are centred mainly on cultural and political subjects of a region comprising Schleswig-Holstein, Sonderjylland-Schleswig and the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Europäische Akademie Schleswig-Holstein was set up in Sankelmark in 1999. It offers conferences and seminars relating to cultural and political subjects focussing on Europe, with the emphasis on European institutions, political and sociological issues as well as matters concerning everyday life in our neighbouring countries.
The Academia Baltica was relocated to Sankelmark in 2011. Its aim is to further
a partnership-collaboration with the Baltic Sea states by organizing in-service events with political, historical and cultural topics. It provides a forum that brings together academics and the general public.
